About

Welcome!

Thanks for visiting.

I have created this blog for 3 reasons:

1) to share interesting stories I encounter throughout life Taku Tales,
2) as a platform to publish my podcast Taku Talks and,
3) to broadcast videos that engage the public on social justice issues T-vlog.

On an aside, I would like to note that my computer skills are limited to Microsoft office and Facebook. This is going to be a challenge…

About Me

I was born in the boundless north and raised up in a rural village (population 200). In those days, I wondered at the beauty and majesty of our small community. But, I was curious about the world outside. I spent much of my childhood biking along the dirt roads daydreaming. Inspired by white caped peeks, I would dream of epic mountain journeys. The isolation of cold long winters would result in dreams of bustling cities, elegant parties and crowded stadiums. Novels or poetry gave me glimpses of other worlds. I wanted to know more, see more, be more. As an adult I perused those dreams with pigheaded bravado.

On the journey through life I make space to honor that time of vision; when my family set roots in the Taku Subdivision, Tagish, Yukon. Hence the name Tales of the Girl from Taku. This blog chronicles part of my path, following my next adventure: Zambia.
